Happy New Year my blog friends. Hopefully I will be able to keep my blog going this year. I do enjoy go to other blogs and reading their post and seeing the projects made.

My Christmas was very nice DH, baby Yvonne and I went to Church and then we came back home and had a non traditional dinner and opened presents. We had some Louisiana gumbo and crackers. Man was it good.

Moving on to the start of Kwanza, the only thing I did was make a few cards. One design was from a clip art, the insides and back are stamps that I have.

The sentiment is from a stamp set I found in my stash as I was trying to organize my studio g stamps and unmounted stamps. Feelin a little sick

My Granddaughter going to College was feeling a little under the weather a week ago so I decided to seen her a little pick her up. Something to put a smile on her face.
This image was a digi print from Fine Arts by Robert Jackson. This particular digi is under the tab of Lil folk, the title of this digi is Lil Sick. Digi stamps are easy to store and can be any size you desire.

The design of my card is called and easle card. I got the directions from Splitcoaststampers. There are written directions and a youtube.

I colored my card with chalks and the ribbon is Hug Snug seam binding that I colored with home made glitter spray.

This is the 'flip album' I did as a demo for the Stamp Addicts meeting we had on Tuesday. I used Winnie the Pooh as my theme. I like it and my Grand Daughter does too. She will be one in two weeks. How exciting. I think I will give this book to her parents. The flowers are from Recollection, with Prima leaves. Tiger and Pooh and their flowers and bees and dragon fly are from a sticker pack I got from Tuesday Morning. I used my cricut to cut title Pooh & Tiger. If you like leave me a comment. A Sales Haul and Stamp Addicts Meet UP

This is a little haul I did today a week before going to the StampScrapArt Tour convention in Winston Salem. I have been trying to save my $$ to have to spend there. But I use a little today. All of what I got was on clearance and I had a coupon for 20% off total sale which included sales items but not clearance items. The items are a Martha Steward Holidays punch - cracks (edge punch)- I have the corner punch; EK Success punch 3/4" square, Scotch removable tape, Hero Arts clear stamps with the meaning of -Create, Simplicity, Kindness, Love and Memories; a ranger applicator and a package of ink blending foam.

In this photo are the ladies of my 'Stamp Addicts'.
I will not give out names for reasons that I will not disclose. Heheheheh! At our meeting the ladies were given directions to making 'The Flip Album'. I think they did a splendid job. The next photos show the finish products close up.

Day After The 4th

Today I've decided that I need to make my blog active again. It's been a minute since I've updated. Well yesterday two of my children decided to have a cookout. They didn't start until after 5pm any way it turned out nice. At around 9 pm we were able to see the fireworks going on down at the battleship. Hope everyone had a great time. Eating Kiwi

You should never shop with your grandchildren. My 6 year old -going on 18 granddaughter was with me when I had to go grocery shopping and she just looove kiwi. But she says my mother want buy them. I didn't think she really liked them because she is a picky eater. But much to my surprise she ate more than me. I only fix one at first thinking that I might have to eat it. As we ate she began counting what was left and saying which ones was hers. So funny.

I have entered a challenge to not buy any craft supplies for the month of February. We watched a YT'er that inspired us to use the supplies we have in Studios/craft areas, etc. This would not be as hard for me if I was home but I'm not sooooo, we shall attempt to hang in there.

A Throw Back

I decided to use a tool that I brought and just had to have a while back, like 2 yrs. I brought a melting pot and the tools to go with it and wax and UTEE. I was so taken with a youtube on use wax. Well I never did do the wax project. But, I was watching an old Youtube of Following the Paper Trail - what she calls glass flowers. This is my take on the glass flowers. The recipe is to put some clear UTEE in the Melting Pot. And you should use your Melting pot as directed being very careful because it becomes very hot.

The hearts and butterfly are MS punches, the others are ek success retro flower 2 different sizes and the centers of the flowers and on the butterfly is the MS luster glass microbeads.

The 2 flowers below on the left are dipped into wax. That gave them a vintage look. The center is a gray pearl that I got from (where else) Michaels.

This is a tree I saw done by a fellow youtuber. This is a Tree chipboard from Michaels and I punched 86 flowers from the 2 in ek success punch. Folded the flower with 2 of the petal over 3 and put glued it down so the 3 petals are on top. I used Martha Steward white glitter for my snow. I made some dew drops colored with copic marker red and put some clear on for my lights. I cut out and Angel for my tree topper and brown cs for the tree trunk.

I know it has been a long time since I posted. But nevertheless I have been busy. First busy-ness is my new Grand Daughter named Yvonne. Amazing, what a name. The below are some projects I've done. Some were done with the ladies on SOC (Scraps of Color). We have fun other there chatting and crafting. The I enrolled myself in a class to learn how to color. Yeah, kindergarten and 1st grade wasn't detailed enough. This is done over on SSC (Simple Scraping Crafts). I have agreed to some swaps for tags, ATC's, flowers, Secret Santa.
So take a look at what I've done so far.
All these were done for the Friday Nite Chat at SOC.

ATC Weekend Challenge

On the a message board I participate in I choose to do this ATC. The challenge was to make an ATC theme was someting inspirational. It could be Hope, Faith, Believe, Inspire etc. Well my ATC's is hiden and inspire. You really have to be creative to see it. LOL I used grunge inking technique of Tim Holtz. Mall of America Visit

Yesterday we arrived in Minnesota and I went to Mall of America. It is a very large even huge place. It has an amusement park in back with several roller coaster other different rides, face painting, balloons and other stuff. The Mall itself has sooo many stores, the anchor ones, Bloomingdale, Macys, Nordstorm & Sears. There are over 520 stores, 50 restaurants plus there is no sales tax on clothing or shoes. Within those 520 stores is an Archiver's. That was my favorite spot. See the above picture to see my purchase. A TH book, 2 sets of rubber stamp sets for cling stamp and ezmount stamp storage, an autum sentiment stamp.

Up here in the state of Washington passing through the Redwoods to get here. I think I have had my fill of Redwood tree. But Washington is pretty and green and the weather is very pleasant. The mornings are cool enough for a light jacket and then the day is beautiful.

Today is DH birthday. I made this card for him hope he likes it.

Oh and the title The Luck Eagle is a casino where we are parked. You park free as long as you go to the casino and play. Well, I left that to him. I can't see my craft $$$$ in the slot machine.

Recipe for card: I used Sassafras paper line, colorbox emblishment, stampe a clock, inside sentiment is TH, dot is 7 gypsies tape. TFL! Leave a comment.

Things To Do in the Redwood Forest

We are still traveling and have reached the Redwood trees in Northern California. These photos were taken at the drive thur tree . This tree was one of the trees in the forest fire sometime before 1976 because then some later a tunnel was mad through the tree and you can actually drive through the trunk of this enormous giant known as the Tour Thru Tree. It is located in Klamath, CA. We saw a man driving an Escalade thur the tree. This was truly amazing. We parked our RV and walked thru as you can tell it was not tall enough for the RV. I have not posted anything because my camera and I have been separated for 2 weeks now. Just some good news, my granddaughter was born Tuesday morning at 4:18 am, weighing in at 8 lbs 15 ozs. 20 3/4 in long. I think she is just adorable and named after her Grama-T to boot. I could bore you with my pictures but I will only post one.

Little Mermaid

My 6th Grand Daughter attended a camp this year titled 'The Mermaid Camp". She had something excited to tell after each day. One day they went to the Marsh and she told me she fell into the water out of the canoe. She doesn't like water in her eyes, well who does but she said and I cried Gram-ma, of course I said that's okay. She has so many expressions that I wish I could capturethem in pictures, they are so cute. These cuts were made from the cart 'Dreams Come True', the papers are from a pack I got at WM in the clearance isle but it did not have a cover. It was solid double side paper very beautiful and it was only .50 a pack of 30 sheets 5 different colors. Great deal! This cut is called the icon. Not sure of this cut but I cut it non-the-less. I plan to make her a mini album to put some pictures in and something about her camp.

On The Road Again

Traveling through Texas we see all these windmill fields. They were all over the place on both sides of the interstate. Of course they all were not running for whatever reason. Driving through it looked sorta spacey.

This is an oil drill just behind a big gas station. Maybe the oil has to be processed but I thought it interesting to be place just behind the station.

I'm late in posting these since our meeting was last week. We had a very fun meeting except we were missing our project teacher. She was not able to be at the meeting but she got a standing and she did very well for her. These are the cards from our swap.

This is the project we made for this month.

We decided that our next month we will each have a card station. This is where each person will decide how a card is to be made and have the supplies for all to make. Sort of like in kindergarten where you have stations we will have card stations themes of your choice.

Forever Young Tag

I have another Tag. This one is a entry to Platinum Scraps go check those designer out they are fantastic. This week the challenge was to the Cricut cart Forever Young. On this tag I use as the background white cs and edged it with a distressing tool and inked it with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress inks and a TH stamp and a flourish. Then added some fibers and safety pin and garment pin to hand a nice butterfly charm, prima flower and button.

Over The Top Tag Swap

I finally finish all 21 of these "Over The Top Tags" and mailed them. I should get some pretty good one back. But in the mean time this is how and what I did with these. The tag measure 3 x 7 and the back is black chipboard. The background is distressed with Distress Victorian Velvet on my craft sheet and spray with water. The side are distress with same ink. I stamped the script stamp with perfect medium and covered with perfect pearls - pearls stamp TH stamps and the dress form in Distress ink. The flower I made it out of rice paper 2 x2 in size and folded to make a triangle 3 times, the cut out a petal, sprayed it with cherry smoothie Memories Mists. Tied some fibers and there you have it. A Party Favor or Decoration

These are pictures of a project I finished today after several trials with my Design Studio. After calling Provo Craft 3 times today I have it working. I enjoy using this software when it works. This little purse is so cute and not that hard to make. It is cut from the Forever Young cart. Once this little purse was cut I used my Scor-Pal to make the creases . The cricut cuts the slits in the inside to hold it together so there is no glue used. There is also a slit in the front that is used to hold the purse closed. I use the pink cs and inked the edges with memento rose bud ink, the flowers are cut with white and purple that you can't see because I put the MS glitter over it. added some bling a the top and the same flower in the back. The last picture is the inside.

These are the cards received at my Stamping Addict meet up last night. We always have a great time when we get together. I did not have cards to swap this time so I will have to make double for next month. At this meeting I was the program director. We did some Tim Holtz techniques for the Tim Holtz Pandemonium. We all had a great time sharing things and learning things for others. This project will take us 2 months to finish only because we have allotted 2 hrs for our night out.

Storage Cricut Carts

Just h ad to do somethi ng to see what I have. Since catching the Cricut bug I had to do something. I saw this idea on Cricut.com and a friend recommend I try this. While in Florida we looked all over Tampa looking for this system. Finally found it after finding other cricut carts to help fill it up. On this project I use the plastic mesh and cut them and then I hot glued them at the dividers for stabilization. The pink dividers were cut with my cricut then labels made with my P-touch label maker. I do love that thing. I used it for labels in my book and overlay storage also. This system is working for me. It will now hold 30 carts. Oh no, it’s not full yet, but I’m working on it. Thanks for looking.

This is a paper bag mini I did for a swap on Scrapbook.com. The theme is Goals and Resolutions. The papers I used are all from one collection by DCWV the all Dressed Up Stack. Some of the paper have silver glitter flourishes and centers of flowers. I used my cricut using the Doodlecharm cart to cut the hat for celebration, the water globe I used as a crystal ball. the basket of egg and the cup cakes. The print is from the computer. This is my take on the TH rose. I tried this after looking my my material for an hour. Then I realized where I had tucked it away for safe travels. The flower is with the sizzix originals die large. Anyway I used my made glimmer mist; forever red, green patina, walnut stain. Then I spread rock candy stickles on top.

Superbowl XLIV 2010

This is our site in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. We're ready for the Super Bowl XLIV. It has already been a great time.

Yesterday we toured the Sun Life Stadium where the Miami Dolphins play there NFL games. It is also home to the Marlins baseball. Our tour guide was a Miami Heat Championship winner in 2001.

This picture is where the stars chill until they go on stage at the big game.

In side the stadium on the 400 level. Not bad seats.

I have joined a mini kit club called Deux Shabby Chic DSC, It is so wonderful. The kits are out of this world. They chalked full of beautiful paper, chipboard pages, chipboard pieces, die cuts, metal, and all sort of great stuff. This is my swap with my November DSC swap partner. Hello, everyone and Happy New Year. For those of you that have made those New Year's Resolutions I hope you are keeping up with them and not letting them "In one Year and out the other" Ha! Well, tonight I went again to my Stamp Addicts meeting. For those of you who are new to my blog we have a group of 9 lovely, creative, friendly ladies. We meet 1st Tuesday of each month and exchange cards we made and explain the technique we use or how we made it. Then one of us will teach a technique or provide the goodies for a project. I have attached some pic from tonight's meeting. My cards were actually tags that were distressed an stamped with some home made glimmer mist.

My cards were actually tags for the month. I distress and stamped from the Nick Bantock Collection. I love this stamp. The colors distress inks I used was broken china, tattered rose and home glimmer mist.

This is the January Project- A coaster 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 the and 2 pieces of pp for the front and back and then the calendar is glued to the lower half and then (not shown) put into a binder clip and that is the stand for the calendar. Cute, Cute, Cute!

Merry Christmas

Hey, this is the day before the day before Christmas. Yeah like Christmas Eve, Eve. I have gotten most of my shopping done. I got a late start this year. All the presents that I got I have wrapped already. Had a little problem with my tree this year so there isn't one. This does not make me happy. But it's still Christmas. While watching a video by scrapstress she did a technique on the slider card and I tried it and here are a few of the pictures of how I did it. Thanks for looking leave a message if you care too.

Flowers I Made

I had fun making these supper great crafts. While blogging I found some talented ladies making these. Check them out at the link below. One of the flowers I didn't save the link so I can't give her the credit. I'm sorry I don't remember the crafter's name and site.

These are some paper and acetate flowers. The 2 flowers on the top are made from light weight brown paper bag. The products used for this are Adirondack color wash terra cotta, glossy accent and the center is a clear pebble this is a link to the video that I CASED (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqVkcKgxls4) The flowers to the left are made of paper and acetate. I punched out 5 petals from and oval punch. I inked one with color box ink, sprayed memories mist-mango lemonade then I stamped manuscript background stamp in black ink, and the top middle was embossed with my cuttlebug and then I brushed on perfect pearls and vintage photo on the edges. The last flowers are made of acetate, alcohol inks, versamark and black and gold ep.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8JupOwM-5w) In all these flowers I used brads to hold them together. Color Challenge

This is a color challenge for She-She on Memories Always Forever -MAF. She challenge us to use the colors- purple, orange, black and green. I don't usually do Halloween but tried this and liked the way it turned out. The caption on the transparency is 'BOO TO YOU'. The skull is a Tim Holtz grunge board inked with acrylic paint with glossy accent over it. The flower was one I cased from Velma. It is made out of light paper bag smooched up and sprayed with gold shimmering mist and place on top of a frame, added buttons and ribbon. Oh the transparency is embossed with black ep.

A "Yard Sale" Haul

What you see here is the haul I got from a fellow craft person. She was downsizing and I got to be a part of her parting moments. Well let me tell you what I got. In the first picture standing up is a chipboard colored calender set, several file folder packet by Rustic Pickle, a brand new grommet tool kit, 4 CD cases of unmounted stamp sets (dress, ribbon & rick rack, labels, My Sentiment exactly letters) a set of unmounted leaves, Stampin up! Mat Pack, Christmas ball stamp set, small paper bags, a sizzix cutter, a container of form letters, so sponge dauber (12 piece) I had a wonderful time looking through all the craft items she had. They were very organized and she was so much fun. She has even been to my Church on several occasions and we talked much longer than I shopped but I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks to my "Friend in Crime" I was able to to get some craft goodies, some of which I have wanted for a while and I feel in love with last night.

Card Swap

These cards were made for a swap I'm in on Scrapbook.com.
The first theme is something that we like. Guess what? Yeah, I looooove to shop. I ordered this stamp from Flourishes. www.flourishers.org (Gigi & Chole set #60). I used memonto black ink and colored with new product that looks like twinkling h2o.

This card has the butterfly theme which had to have a butterfly on the card somewhere. I used the butterfly collage stamp- stamp it twice and cut out the butterfly colored and covered it with crystal lacquer.

This card a has the tropical theme. I used Bazzill texture paper and the technique is the crayon directly on the stamp and them mist and stamp, this makes it look like watercolor.

RV Studio

This is my stamp studio on my RV. It's small and cramp but it works. This is where I produced some of my swaps and started challenges for Ebonysisters, etc. I had to pack up Sunday so we could start on our journey back home. Packing up took a very long time but I have it so tight even air will have a difficult time passing though. On our way home we stopped by our niece and nephew in Mississippi for a family cookout on Labor Day. We had a wonderful time with lots of food and family. Now today Tuesday we are headed for home, stopping in Anniston, Al over night at a campground. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

This is a tag using the technique I acquired at the Scrap Scrap Art Tour in Winston-Salem, NC July 25-26. Ted was the demonstrator and one of his suggestions; to women is to unhook you'll be fine (meaning be free with your design); put white pen on card to cover up block smudges (the pen he used is a galaxy marker; yellow ink covers anything (mustard seed).
Receipe for tag- manila tag, mustard seed, mini mister filed with water, Distress ink- vintage photo, faded jeans; stamps; tree(seaside stamping Ink), V-mail letter(River City Rubber Works, believe (Seaside stamping Ink), Fanciful Dot Filament (Hero Arts), stickles- frosted lace, Glitz stickles Champagne.

Color Speak the Truth

As I was blogging today I found this “Colorscope”on the Paper Source blog. We all mix and match colors without really knowing what the colors really mean. PS says that Sue felt that a person's favorite colors revealed something interesting about them, so she create the Colorscope. Look at the Colorscope and pick two favorites ( mine fuchsia and beet) and read what it says you are like according to the color you pick. Leave me a comment to let me know what the colorscope says about you.

Etsy Inspiration #38

The card I am posting is a 3 for. The design inspiration came from the Etsy Inspiration a cute bird house at Bacon Square Farm. This card serves as my design challenge for the Etsy Inspiration #38, Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge and my my card swap at my Stamp Addicts stamp club. The Etsy Inspiration challenge is a neat challenge that I look for each Saturday. The challenge is taken from different Etsy inspired shops. This week it happen to be one that have mostly outdoor items.

The second part of the 3 for is for Splitcoaststampers - Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge . This challenge is for each participants to make a card each month that contains a bible verse. My verse is taken from Psalm 91:1.

The third part of this 3 for is for the swap with Stamp Addicts. We are to make enough cards for each member of the club (preferably stamped.)

Dance Like No One is Looking...

This page is dedicated to my sister, my niece mother. She is in heaven now singing with the hallelujah chorus. This is the start of a graduation book for my niece who is graduating from North Carolina School of the Arts. She go started in dance and has loved it and being very bias she is gooooood.

Etsy DT & Jazz Inspiration Card

This is a design sketch from SCS. The inspiration for the card came from Etsy.
I had so much fun with this card. The stamp design is a stamp I got from a Stamp Addicts Club member that pass away in February '08. She was a sparkle queen. Most of the cards she made had sparkle. She was a good person and I will miss her at our stamping gathering. I went a step further and designed the inside. with a birthday sticker and designer paper.

God's Marvelous Love

This is a card I did for the Divine Design Bible Challenge for April. I used the stamp Art Gone Wild! and colored with markers. I tried my hand at the perfect pearl using the violet and gold. The verse was stamped with versemark and embosed with distress embossing powder.

Creative Cute Challenge #4

This is a challenge from Kreate With Me 2
I'm participating in the Creative Cute challenge #4. I found this picture in the Williams-Sonoma Home in furniture. It is and Eaton Club Chair with a monogrammed solid cashmere throw.
My card I used Paper Pizazz-soft tints yellow stripes, K&Company-Butterfly Collage, Bazzill-deep blue and white. To imitate the upholstery tacks I used a Tsukineko marker on white CS. I also used JustRite monogram stamper and embossed with white Judi Kins embossing powder, Fiskars border punched was used on the edge, the glass embellishment was stamped with black stazons ended with a bow.

The First card with the Scripture Luke 11:9 was made on a blue card, Cloud 9 Design sparkle CS, Bazzill Textures-Green, and K & Company. The Second Card I Chron. 4:10 made with vanilla CS, Basic Grey, K&Company, Bazzill testure-Green, white rick rack, 3 small buttons.

This is one of the 31 pages I made for a fatbook swap with the Charlotte Altered Book Club. As a members of this swap I will receive a complete book with other altered pages made by those that participated. I was unable to attend the actual meeting so I look forward to receiving my book. I use dp warm violet & ice jade colorbox ink to add color, stamping with versafine vintage sepia ink, detail the circle with pastal chalks-gold-stamps used hamilton arts swirl and Time Holtz collection, also I used some clear stickles for some bling.

A New Blogger

I'm just figuring out how to 'blog'. I've enjoyed reading other blogs and have subscribed to several. I enjoy most crafts. My favorite by far now is rubber stamping. I started stamping about 10 years ago. My friend and I brought stamps and paper and ink pads not really knowing what to do. We didn't have anyone at the time to help us so that art didn't go very far with us. After that she was invited to a crop and she came back to told me of the wonderful things she had discovered and of course I followed her.

The container to the right is what I made for my Stamping Addicts friend but unable to share it at the December Dinner.
